A temporary installation designed as a public experiment. Asking the question how the transformation of labour can be used for social coexistence in a post-labour society? For this prototype, that deals with a new approach towards work as a mode of production and social exchange, a central section of the parking lot at the end of Vienna’s Naschmarkt was occupied. The otherwise underused parking lot is temporarily reactivated as a public space programmed for non-commercial, social exchange. Modules arranged in a linear grid, act as containers for social transactions.
Park was implemented and designed by Team Wien, a collaborative team of designers, investigating the future of communal life in cities. Our experiments and interventions interrogate the way we work, play, and coexist in an urban environment.
